TCOLE

Every officer's unit, cycle and certificates on one page.

Shift Ready checks each officer against the TCOLE training requirements and shows what is done, what is open and when it is due.

  • 2-year unit: 40 hours, State and Federal Law Update, Protecting Your TCOLE License, 16 hours of ALERRT and ALERRT Level 1.
  • 4-year cycle for officers without an Intermediate certificate, with a new officer's first cycle figured from the license date.
  • Supervisor and PIO courses, due within a year of promotion, and the New Supervisor's Course.
  • Courses your department tracks, such as Eyewitness Identification and Body Worn Camera.
  • Requirements you can update when TCOLE changes them: add, remove or change any course and its accepted course numbers.
  • Civilians and former employees stay off the lists, and their records are kept.

Proficiency certificates

See when each officer can earn the next certificate.

For every officer below Master, Shift Ready works out the date their service time and hours meet the TCOLE chart, lists the courses still missing, and shows any faster path.

  • Service from the licensed date, less any time out of law enforcement, always current.
  • Hours the way TCOLE counts them: training hours, college hours and military hours.
  • Faster ways: for example, 75 more training hours moves an officer to an earlier path.
  • Courses with equivalents, including academy courses, checked for Basic, Intermediate, Advanced and Master.

Firearms

Qualification records signed by your instructors.

Your Firearms Instructors and FTOs are set as roles in the main program, and an officer can hold either or both.

  • Officer fills in their half: name, PID and weapons, ready for the instructor.
  • Instructor signs: inspection, cleaning, qualification result and weather. Instructors never sign their own record.
  • Officer acknowledges the signed record from their phone.
  • Edits keep history: an instructor can correct a record, the earlier version is kept, and the officer acknowledges it again.
  • Printable form for the department's files.
