One sign-in. Use one part, or all of them.

Each part works on its own. Departments that only need scheduling can buy only scheduling, and adding the others later keeps everything in one sign-in and one officer app.

Scheduling

Rotations, time off, overtime, part-time jobs, on call and staffing, with requests and notices on every officer's phone.

Scheduling

Made for fixed police rotations with flexibility for any shift design.

Police schedules stay consistent. Shift Ready builds the rotation once and handles everything that changes around it. Create any schedule with any hours to meet your needs.

  • 12-hour A/B groups and Pitman rotations, with your choice of which days make the 3-day stretch.
  • 8-hour short day on 12-hour schedules, on the weekday you pick, ending early or starting late, to bring a Pitman cycle from 84 hours to 80.
  • Move people between shifts in a few taps. Pick the new shift, team or beat and the date it starts; earlier weeks stay as they were.
  • Time off from the officer's phone, for a full shift or part of one, approved by a supervisor.
  • Holidays and closed days, with a reason and times, and one-week notices to every officer affected.
  • Overtime reporting with date and times, and flex days to keep training weeks from turning into overtime.
  • Today's Staffing and a printable briefing, so the supervisor knows who is on before roll call.
  • Hours by your pay period, ready to download for payroll.

Shift Ready supervisor schedule for one week: 12-hour day and night shifts, with night shifts drawn across midnight, an 8-hour short day, a training day, open positions and pending time off requests
Night shifts drawn the way they are worked. A 6 PM to 6 AM shift runs straight across midnight as one block, so coverage, hours and time off stay right on both sides of the date line. Shown with sample data.

Vehicle Checkout

Reported problems stay visible until they are fixed.

Officers check their unit from a phone at the start of the shift. Supervisors see what needs attention, and every repair stays in the vehicle's history.

Officer checkout

Condition, tires, emergency lights and equipment, checked from a phone in a few minutes.

Supervisor view

Open issues, damage reviews and out-of-service units at a glance.

Report follow-through

Damage and equipment concerns are tracked to repair, and the history is kept.

Maintenance intervals

Mileage-based service schedules on every vehicle record.

Damage photos

Officers photograph damage during the inspection, and the photos stay in the vehicle's damage history.

Your checklists

Tailored for patrol units and specialized vehicles.

Reservations

Reserve a pool or special-use vehicle ahead of time.

Need inspections without maintenance tracking or damage photos? An inspections-only plan costs less.

Training

Every officer's TCOLE status, before the unit closes.

The 2-year unit, the 4-year cycle and the next proficiency certificate for every officer, checked against the TCOLE requirements. Officers see their own needs on their phone, and supervisors print the reports.

Firearms qualifications are signed by your Firearms Instructors and acknowledged by the officer, with every edit kept.

Pass Along Info

What the last shift knows, the next shift sees.

Officers and supervisors post short notes: a hazard, an open call, a car to watch for. Each post is stamped with the time and the poster's name, newest on top, on the first screen officers open.

Posts cannot be edited or removed. They are kept for two years and then removed automatically, and supervisors can download every post for the department's records.

How a shift starts

  1. 1

    The officer signs in

One start screen: Vehicle Checkout, Schedule, Part-time Jobs and Training, with who is on call and the latest Pass Along Info.

  2. 2

    The supervisor reviews

Staffing, vehicle issues and out-of-service units in one place, with a red number on Schedule for time off and overtime waiting on approval.

Our story

Built by a chief who needed it.

Chief Paul Robeson built Shift Ready after reported repairs kept going unresolved in his own department. Scheduling followed for the same reason: the tools available were built for retail and restaurants, not for fixed police rotations.

FBI National Academy · Leadership Command College (LEMIT) · M.S., Criminal Justice Leadership and Management, Sam Houston State University.

These describe the founder's own education. Shift Ready is not endorsed by the FBI, LEMIT, Sam Houston State University or any government agency.

Questions departments ask

Will it handle our rotation?

It handles 12-hour A/B groups, Pitman rotations with any 3-day stretch, and fixed admin shifts. We set yours up during onboarding.

Can we buy scheduling without vehicle checkout?

Yes. Each part can be turned on by itself, and you can add the others later.

How do officers request time off?

From their phone: pick the dates, a full shift or specific hours, and send. They get a notice when it is approved, denied or canceled.

Does it track TCOLE training?

Yes. It tracks the 2-year unit, the 4-year cycle for officers without an Intermediate certificate, supervisor and PIO courses, and each officer's next proficiency certificate. Requirements can be updated when TCOLE changes them.

Do we need to install an app?

No. It runs in the browser on phones, tablets and computers. An internet connection is required.

Who can see our data?

Only signed-in members of your department, limited by their role. Each department's records are kept separate. Security and data

How long does setup take?

We review your vehicles, checklists, shifts and roster with you, then plan the rollout. Timing depends on the size of the department.
